I always knew I would meet the love of my life serendipitously…like a Hallmark movie meet-cute scene, ya know? So it hardly came as a surprise when a boy from small-town Edmond, Oklahoma swept me off my feet at a pizza joint while passing through my also small hometown of Augusta, Georgia one balmy Spring night in 2017...

I am being facetious of course, this was totally unexpected! And yes, he absolutely did slip me a note while I was frantically bussing tables on the restaurant patio- essentially his phone number scribbled on a guest check he acquired from a waiter. Like I said, the Hallmark moment of my dreams. Now I just had to work up the nerve to call him…

Fast forward to countless brunch dates filled with writing each other cheesy poems on napkins, magical music festivals *cue dancing to Cage the Elephant in the rain,* many joyous holidays spent with each other’s families, and you could say we’re pretty inseparable.

Anyway, I guess this handsome fella really loves me or something because in August of 2022, after descending 300 steps into the middle of Tallulah Gorge, he dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him... My response? In a nutshell the most breathless yet easiest “YES” I have ever said!

In the quiet town of Edmond, Oklahoma, I never imagined that my life would take me to Augusta, Georgia. Fate had its own plans, however, and I suddenly found myself in this charmingly small city where I stumbled upon the love of my life...

One Spring night in 2017, at a cozy pizza joint in Downtown Augusta, the universe had a surprise in store. As I sat in a booth on a busy Saturday night, her warm smile immediately caught my eye. In a spur-of-the-moment decision, I scribbled my phone number on the receipt my waiter handed me, hoping she’d reach out.

To my delight, she called me two weeks later, and so began our daily banter! We embarked on a whirlwind of brunch dates, spontaneous road trips, and shared laughable moments with each passing day. We became inseparable.

While hiking at our favorite spot in August of 2022, I took her hand and, grabbing the ring from my pocket, asked her to be mine forever. With joy and surprise filling her eyes, she said “YES,” and I knew that was the happiest moment I have experienced thus far in my life.

Our love story isn’t scripted but real and beautiful, filled with serendipity. As we look ahead, I feel grateful for the magic of fate that brought us together, ready to embrace a future full of love and adventure, hand in hand.
